Bad boys bad boys, what you gonna do...

Yep, Kesha and I got pulled over on the way home from picking Jasmin up from the airport (I was driving her car). I was going 86 in a 75. The cop asks "do you know how fast you were going?" (WHY do they always ask that???) and my first thought is I don't know how fast I was going when you saw me, but I know how fast I was going when I saw you... damn downhill grades!!! Anyway, he let me off with a warning after giving the obligatory lecture on you need to slow down cuz I could technically take you to jail tonight and give you a $600 ticket. NICE! Glad he wasn't a prick... here it's a little harder to catch the breaks.

Fun family and baseball...

LesLee and her fam came to visit this week. Her girls have gotten so big. We always have such a fun time when she's here and keep REALLY busy. Of course my sickness with having to attend EVERY baseball game didn't help with my exhaustion this week. But anyway, a brief run down. They arrived on Wednesday afternoon and came over with Lori, Kaylee and Trent and we visited while the kids played in the toy room (where Lilli was extremely disappointed in our lack of dragon toys). They left around 4:30 that afternoon and after scarfing down a quick dinner I met up with all of them (+ Kesha and boys) for some fun at the hotel pool. I had to bail on that a little early to catch my baseball game. It was "paint the park pink" night for breast cancer awareness. They were actioning off the special navy/hot pink sweaty jersey's they guys played in that night... which I got outbid on the one I wanted, but was given the opportunity for a better one, which I'll have to explain at some other time :)

Thursday we met up with LesLee & fam, Lori & fam, Kesha+ boys, Aunt Karen and Jon & had dinner at Pirate Island Pizza. Thank Jebus for the arcade because the place was packed and the food took FOREVER. The kids played in the arcade with Derek, Josh, Patrick and McKenna while the rest of us sat around the table catching up while we waited the hour+ (no joke) for our food. Of course my boys had the night off that night so there was no rush for the baseball game and no reason for me to have to choose between the two events (I know, told ya, it's sad).

Friday Derek headed up North with the girls, Josh headed up North with Kaylee which left Lori & LesLee with just sweet baby Trent and wide open for a girls day. They picked me up and we headed out to Capriotti's for lunch (because they are evil whores like that), then we went to Roberts to pick up some flowers and stuff for LesLee to make her girls some bows. Somehow we ended up at the mall shopping and holy crap, I haven't laughed as hard as I did in that dressing room in a long time. Yeah, all three of us Lori, LesLee & Me (holding baby Trent who REFUSED to sleep longer than 10 mintues all day) were crammed into a dressing room while they tried on clothes. LesLee's belly dance in the fuchsia skirt and G's will be stuck in my head for months to come. There were plenty of "OMG did I just pee a little" laughing spurts (including the one when the sales lady came to check to see if we needed any other sizes... while Les frantically shook her head no with a look of horror on her face). Had to be there moments, but I'm the only one who reads this thing anyway so it doesn't matter :) We made it home from the mall with just enough time for me to change out of the Virginia Tech dress I wore (because I failed to notice before I left the house just HOW MUCH too big that shirt had become) and race off to the baseball game. As soon as the game ended I jumped back into my car and raced back to Lori's house for the Toes, Bows and Hoes girl night which I had already missed half of, but got there just in time for the good suffocation stories and Hungry Howie's Pizza (see... dirty whores I tell ya!! Pizza!!)

Saturday I got up at the ass crack of dawn (7:30 to the rest of the world... okay 8) to shave my legs before stuffing them into a bathing suit for a day at the lake with Lori, Les and Julie. We had a great time at the launch and then swimming until late afternoon. On the way home we stopped for ice cream (dirty whores) and it was gooooood. I was so sad to hug Les goodbye so I just dropped into my regular denial and told her I would see her tomorrow :) It's just easier that way. Had a great time visiting with her though and wish we could get her to move down here. I think we make a little more progress every time she visits... at this rate we might have her down here by the time Lacey graduates from high school.

And of course some pictures... Les has more than I do so I'll try to get some from her later :)

Rec center and BBQ

Yesterday we (Mom, Dad, Aiden, Lia and I) met up with Jake, Kesha & boys(+Patrick) & Lori and kids at the new Rec center to play in their HUGE indoor pool. It was my first time there and I was amazed at this place. The pool had a HUGE play area with slides and a huge water pail that tipped every few minutes drenching everyone within 30 feet with a tidal wave of water. It also had a small play area over to the side for smaller kids that only sat in about 1.5 feet of water. They had the coolest thing for babies... it's kinda like a jump-a-roo set up that you can put them in and let them jump and splash to their hearts content in about a foot of water without having to hold them. Unfortunately Trent is about 3 months too young for this right now. They also have a lazy river that we floated in endlessly that runs in a circle outside then back in. The entire back wall opens up and there is a splash pad and sun deck with a huge BBQ area. Inside there is also a gigantic water slide (which i didn't go on but that mom insisted was great) and a lap pool. There was seriously so much for the kids to do and not much to worry about as the deepest part of the play area pool/ lazy river is only 3.5 feet deep. We put the smaller kids in life vests but the big kids were allowed to "swim" on their own as they could touch bottom anywhere in the pool. The boys loved playing in the lazy river. Jake was in there with a few of them and got separated from Aiden, who got stuck in the crossing currents and couldn't push past into the river. Jake had to wait and grab him as he passed back around. Jake said Mr. Never met a stranger Aiden was asking everyone that passed "excuse me Mr. can you push me in the river". He didn't have to wait long for Jake to get him, it only takes about a minute to get all the way around.

We decided while we were at the Rec center to have a BBQ for dinner so when we were done swimming we packed up all the kids and headed home. We threw Aiden and Lia down for Rest Time, then I jumped in the shower while mom started making mac & cheese. Everyone showed up around 5 with various sides and we had the most thrown together last minute cook out you have ever seen, but it worked out nicely. We played a bit of Guitar Hero, but mostly just sat around and talked while the kids ran wild terrorizing the dog.

In intervals I would go upstairs to catch up with my RR's who were playing Orange County in a double header. Lets just say I was never too pleased with what I heard. They had a bad night last night and were SHUT OUT back to back! That has never happened before. I don't know what the deal is but they just can't seem to get their bats going. Kinda sucks when everyone hits a slump at the same time. They are hanging onto first place in our division by a few games but it's getting a little close for comfort. Hope they shake themselves loose soon. And hope that someone chokes their sportscaster. At least I'll be at the next couple of games and won't have to listen to him.

Thursday

Today has been the loooongest day. I woke up to the delicate sounds of Aiden banging around downstairs at 7 a.m. I could also hear him talking Dad's ear off. This kid wakes up talking a mile a minute. I refused to get out of bed before 8 even though I couldn't go back to sleep. I rolled out of bed at 8:01 and headed downstairs. I got everyone fed and dressed and by the time I was showered and ready myself it was 10. I took the kids to the park thinking I could walk on the track while they played on the playground. Yeah, not so much. Aiden started following me around before I was even a full lap around, then Lia lay on the ground and refused to walk any further after we visited the fish pond. Needless to say it was time to go and she DID get up and walk her little hind parts home. It was sooo hot outside today that we pretty much camped out inside watching movies for the rest of the day. Aiden had a friend come over this evening to play on the slip n slide for awhile which was fun for them. Then came dinner & baths and then finally bed time. I'm beat. And my team is currently loosing in the bottom of the 8th. They were winning when they came into this inning. Then they put in the closer that got the loss yesterday... and the SAME GUY hit ANOTHER 2 run double off of him. Homeboy does NOT have good luck in this stadium apparently. Personally I would have hit that SOB when he came to the plate after stealing the game from me the day before. But I'm ghetto like that.

Waterslides and Baseball upsets

Today was my first day with Lia and Aiden. They'll be here for 5 days while Amber and Smitty are back east for a funeral. They arrived around 11 and we had a quick pancake brunch (and good lord can they put away some pancakes... I felt like Aunt Jamima). Next on the agenda was an hour or so of cartoons (a ploy to gain a few moments peace to check my facebook and blogs). To everyone's delight, Gramma and Papa (and some Popeye's chicken) arrived home around 3 o'clock. Mom took a 5 week vacation back east and we are all glad that she is finally home. After a little Gramma fix it was time for "Rest Time"(a.k.a. "Adult Recovery" time because Auntie is about this - close to passing out right here on the couch) which lasted for an hour and a half or so. We cut that short though and headed down to Janelle's house so they could play with her kids on their big inflatable water slide. They sure had a blast down there and were really fun to watch. (But holy crap what is with the tattling at this age??? If no one is bleeding or requiring immediate medical attention, I really don't care what happened). But anyway, on with the pictures!

Tonight Jake and Dad had softball games so I threw Lia into a quick bath, got her ready for bed then went to grab Aiden only to find him fast asleep in his bed in front of a movie. Rather than wake him (it was already 7:30) I just let him sleep dirty :) He played on the water slide... that counts a little right :) Anyway, I left mom with the sleeping (and almost asleep) kids and met the boys at the ball park to watch their games (they split... lost the first game, won the second)while I listened to the Roadrunners game on my handy little walkman radio.

As for the roadrunner's game, they were down 2-0 til the top of the 7th, where they blew up for 5 runs and led 5-2. The score stayed the same until the bottom of the 9th... with one out. Chico is at the plate, 2 walks led to a 2 RBI double and then a 2 run walk off home run for the win! I HATE when that freakin' happens (to us)!!! I mean OUR team does that to other teams all the time, but it hardly ever happens to us. Crap.

Sissy

We had a cool lightning storm tonight. Dog, of course, was a huge sissy and hid under the kitchen table while I watched at the back door. You can hear, no thunder, no rain... just crickets... freaking scaredy cat.

Happy Birthday to me...

I had a good birthday today. Dad got up early and went and got me a present (Guitar Hero World Tour) and a cake. Lori, Kaylee & Trent came over and brought me some cute earrings, then Amber, Smitty, Aiden and Lia joined us and brought me a funny t-shirt. We played Guitar Hero until my fingers were cramping. It has some 311 on it (whooohooo!). Rochelle stopped by around 6 and brought me the first half of my birthday present (a t-shirt autographed by most of the Roadrunners), then around 6:30 Dad and I headed up to the ballpark where we met Smitty and the kids. There I got the second half of my present from Rochelle (a shirtless, sweaty pin-up of a player that was taken last night just for me...all I could say to was Daaaaaaammmmnnnn! (and holy shit I can't believe she made him do that!) It was autographed as well with a happy birthday wish on it). The boys gave me the rest of my birthday present, blowing out Orange County 21-9... it was great. By the end of the game Lia had dad heckling the other team like a champ. Tonight's game was a little bittersweet as Juan, my other favorite player (757 in the house) has decided to give it up and move on... tonight was his last game :( I may have shed a tear but wish him the best in whatever he decides to do. Thanks to everyone who made my birthday special... love you all.

Happy Birthday Koley...

I am completely dropping the ball on these birthday posts. July 5th was sweet Koley's 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday little man!

Batting Cage...

I feel like the kid in A Christmas Story "I can't put my arms down". But in my case, I can't really move them much at all. Dad and I went to the batting cage today for an hour. I maybe took a hundred swings and my arms are killing me. I haven't hit in soooo long. I did make my way down to the medium fast pitch cage though and after only one embarrassing swing where I didn't come anywhere close, I got my bat on the ball and started hittin' some. Still got it :) But what do I have to show for today? 5... yes FIVE! freaking blisters. In 55 minutes. With 2 batting gloves on. WTF?

Tomorrow the RR come back into town and the heat stroker starts tomorrow night as well, so definitely a weekend full of baseball/softball. Love it! Here is a picture from the cage and I finally managed to get the pictures I took of Trent yesterday. His are a little fuzzy because I had the resolution set wrong on my phone. Here they are...

Another summer day...

Can I just stop and say for a minute how freaking great it is not to have to go to work for awhile? Not that I don't love my job but HOLY CRAP I love waking up whenever I want and having the whole day to do just the things that I want to do. I'm sure my tune will change in another week or so, but so far, LOVING summer vacation.

Today I got to watch Kaylee and Trent while Lori went and got her hair did. Sorry, no pictures of Kaylee as she was too busy watching the Hefelumps movie to even spare me a glance. And I can't upload the pictures of Trent right now because Sprint's website is down for routine maintenance (damn it!) As it were, Trent didn't have much time for me either. I fed him... then he slept for 2.5 hours. I mean like passed out asleep, not even flinching when I picked his arm up and dropped it a few times (cuz I'm soothing like that). Nice. Sorry Lor, call me if he's up all night... really... I'll be up :)

I listened to my baseball game today on the radio. Well the first 55 minutes of it... then they had a 2 hour and 19 minute rain delay before we could listen to the REST of it. They boys wanted to give in and go back to the hotel... I don't blame them. The other team wouldn't have it though and after the 2 hour rain delay we ended up losing 5-1. They should have just let us forfeit. Outfielders should NOT have to jump over lakes (or charge through them) to catch a routine pop fly. Soggy shoes kinda ruin the effect.

Not much else to report. Oh yeah, did I mention how much I LOVE summer vacation? Oh I did? My bad.

Happy Forth of July...

Happy 4th of July everybody. I'm heading out to Jakesha's in about an hour (hooray for bbq and LOTS of fun!)

I've had a busy few days. On Monday I took some new pictures of Trent... which are as of yet unedited (sorry Lori) but I'll work on them in the endless stretch of a week I have looming in front of me. On Tuesday we (Jakesha, boys and I) headed down to Las Vegas to pick up Lisa & kids. We stayed in the Sunset Station in Henderson (which I highly recommend... Vegas without most of the Vegas BS). Unfortunately, the airline lost Jasmin's luggage (why the 15 year old girl? they care the most!) Anyway, of course Uncle Jake volunteered to take her shopping to hold her over until her bag arrived. We shopped in the HUGE Henderson mall across the street, went bowling in the hotel, swimming, dinner on the strip, a quick adventure walk to see the sights & hotels, then back home on Thursday morning! Good Times.

Thursday night I headed straight out to the ball field to see my boys win a great game 4-2, last night not so lucky as they got beat 18-13. As of right now they are in first place by 6 games in their division... WHOOHOO!!!

I'll post some pictures when I get a chance, just wanted to jot down a few things. I'm out!

Splash Pad

I picked the boys up this afternoon around 3:30 and hauled them off with me to the splash pad. I figured they could run some energy off, mom & dad could have them out from underfoot for a few hours to get some remodel work done and I could get some sun on my ghostly white legs. Goals 1 & 2: check... goal 3... errr not so much, I'm thinking they need a few more days to lose the florescence. Anyway, of course I took my camera along for the photo opportunity. C.J. was so funny... he kept asking "Are you gonna post that on facebook?" I asked him if I should and he says... "Um, yeah, they need to see me" :) I swear he makes me laugh so hard. We had a great time and the boys played awesome together. We only had one small mishap where Boogie wiped out on a metal grate and took a little chunk out of his knee, but he toughed it out and only cried for a second. Afterward we stopped off at the store and bought some ice cream treats to take home to Mom, Dad & Grandpa who were still working like field hands. Here are a few of our pictures from today :)
